Peter Haber was Adjunct Professor of Modern History at the History Department of the University of Basel (Switzerland). He passed away on 28 April 2013.
He received his doctorate for research on Hungarian-Jewish history, and qualified for professorial status with a postdoctoral study on the historical sciences in the digital age.
He then pursued further training in Archival Studies and Information Sciences at the University of Berne (Switzerland).
In the summer of 2010, he was Visiting Professor in "History, Didactics, and Digital Media" at the University of Vienna (Austria).
He is the co-founder of hist.net, an international platform for history and digital media.
From 2004 to 2013, he has served as reviewing editor of H-Soz-u-Kult, the German branch of H-Net.
His publications include several articles and books on Hungarian-Jewish history and on history in the digital age.
