Viele audiovisuelle Dokumente sind verblichen, verstummt
oder verloren, weil sie bisher kaum als erhaltenswert betrachtet
wurden. Da keine Institution der Schweiz die Aufgabe der
Auswahl und der Konservierung dieser Dokumente allein übernehmen
kann, haben die produzierenden und archivierenden Institutionen
eine enge Zusammenarbeit in Form eines Netzwerkes namens
Memoriav beschlossen.

Die Schweizerische Landesphonothek bietet Beratung und direkte
Dienstleistungen in folgenden Gebieten an: Organisation,
Aufbau und Einrichtung von Tonarchiven, Tonaufnahmetechnik
zu Archivzwecken (z.B. Aufnahme von Sitzungen politischer
Gremien), Restaurieren und Kopieren von älteren Tonträgerbeständen,
Herstellung von Benutzer- und Sicherheitskopien, Dokumentation
(Katalogisierung) von Tonträgerbeständen.

U.S. Labor and Industrial History Audio Project
The site contains a developing archive of Labor and Industrial
History audio recordings in RealAudio format. Currently the
site features two groups of recordings. The first are from
a 1996 Columbia University workshop, "The Fight for America's
Future: A Teach-In with the Labor Movement." The second
group contains historical recordings arranged chronologically.

The Gulf War
This companion site to the PBS TV documentary, building
also on BBC material, has background information on the
Gulf War 1991. It entails a chronology of events, maps,
a selection (audio files and transcripts) of interviews
with decision-makers and military commanders, and eyewitness
accounts of the war. In addition, there is a bibliography
on the subject, a section on press coverage of the war,
one on weapons used in the war, and a facts and stats section.
